US intelligence directs a meeting of Yemeni coalition forces in Saudi Arabia

The US began desperate attempts on Thursday to rebuild relations between the Yemeni forces loyal to the coalition. This coincides with a movement to reprice the war.

US intelligence organized meetings in the Saudi capital that included leaders from the coalition forces, whether loyal to Saudi Arabia or the UAE.

Among the participants in the meeting, organized under the banner of the “American Democratic Institute,” one of the most prominent US intelligence arms, were leaders from the Transitional Council, in addition to others affiliated with Tareq Saleh, and a third from the parties of the General People’s Congress, Islah, Socialist, and Nasserist parties, according to photos of the meeting.

The meeting was dedicated, according to participants, to discussing the restoration of relations between these forces, which have suffered from crises in recent months, most notably the war against the Transitional Council.

Although no statement has yet been issued from the meeting, it was considered part of American moves to avoid a new division between the Yemeni forces in the coalition areas in southern and eastern Yemen.

It is noteworthy that meetings at the political level of the coalition forces in Yemen were initiated by America during Biden’s era, and the only program that the Trump administration maintained and funded from among the rest of the programs that were canceled as part of plans to halt the operations of the Democratic Institute and the US Agency for International Development.

Accordingly, what is known as the National Alliance of Political Forces was formed, established by the Democratic Institute years ago, and Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr was appointed as its leader.
