The Ministry of Health in Gaza is calling for urgent international intervention to save the life of Dr. Marwan al-Hams.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the life and safety of Dr. Marwan al-Hams, director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, and all his fellow prisoners, calling for international intervention to save his life and that of his fellow detainees.

In a statement, the Ministry condemned “the brutality and barbarity practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities against our people’s prisoners in general, and medical personnel in particular. This brutality is manifested in the most heinous forms of fascism and Nazi-like criminality through the heinous crime committed against Dr. Marwan al-Hams, director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, inside the ‘Ganot’ prison. He was subjected to restraint, dragging, and severe beatings, resulting in fractures and acute pain, under the direct supervision, presence, and gloating of the extremist criminal Itamar Ben-Gvir, the occupation’s Minister of National Security.”

She noted that “this fully-fledged crime reflects the systematic retaliatory behavior adopted by the occupying institution, which is not content with targeting the health system, bombing hospitals and killing personnel in the field, but also pursues the Palestinian doctor even inside detention cells with the most hateful and heinous forms of physical and psychological abuse and torture, in a blatant and severe challenge to human conscience and internationally established systems.”
