Amputees in Gaza face rehabilitation difficulties due to Israeli restrictions

In the corridors of the prosthetic limb hospital in Gaza, amputees flock to the facility seeking solutions to regain mobility. However, the shortage of raw materials makes meeting the needs of war victims increasingly difficult.

The need is even greater for children, whose growing bodies require adjustable and replaceable prosthetic limbs. Specialized facilities are facing a severe shortage of resources and supplies, leaving many children waiting for a prosthetic limb that would offer them a better chance at life.

Technicians in the workshop strive to produce prosthetic limbs with the limited raw materials and resources available. However, the scarcity of materials and the difficulty of importing them through the crossings hinder the fulfillment of the wounded’s needs, exacerbated by Israeli restrictions that prevent even the most basic necessities from entering Gaza.
