An investigation reveals the occupation’s circumvention of the Yemeni maritime embargo through Arab and international fronts

Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Al-Masirah TV, in a new televised investigation, has revealed Zionist attempts to circumvent the naval embargo imposed by the Yemeni Armed Forces on ships heading to occupation ports, using complex methods and commercial fronts in several Arab and European countries.

According to the investigation, the most prominent of these methods is “maritime transit,” where goods are shipped to alternative ports in neighboring countries and then transferred onto smaller vessels that sail toward the occupation ports so that they appear in records as if they were a legitimate final destination that does not include the occupying entity.

The investigation noted that this mechanism allows ships to bypass the Yemeni embargo, as the intermediary port is registered as the final destination in shipping documents, which hides the vessel’s true destination and protects it from Yemeni targeting.

According to official trade reports, 26% of the occupation’s trade volume is linked to South Asian countries, a percentage that does not correspond to the actual volume of navigation observed to the entity’s ports. This reinforces the hypothesis that the occupation is using alternative Mediterranean ports, including those in Greece, as transit points for shipping its goods.

The investigation pointed out that UN data showed a significant surge in the volume of trade exchange between Greece and the occupation during the period of implementation of the Yemeni embargo, as Greek exports to the entity recorded an increase of 41% in 2024 compared to the previous year, which was considered additional evidence of Greek ports being used to serve ships bound for the entity.

In the same context, the investigation revealed that several Turkish ships continue to dock at the occupation’s ports, including Haifa and Ashdod, despite the Turkish government’s announcement over a year ago halting all forms of trade exchange with “Israel.”

According to navigation tracking websites, Turkish and “Israeli” commercial ships still exchange visits on an ongoing basis, exposing the falsity of Turkish statements regarding boycotting the occupation and confirming that trade relations between Ankara and Tel Aviv persist and are even witnessing growth, with their annual value exceeding $9.5 billion.
