The elderly and children in Gaza flee into the unknown

In Gaza, every hour, with renewed evacuation orders, Palestinians are forced to leave their shelters to unknown areas without any resources for life. Staying means facing death, while children and the elderly face starvation in the streets, with aid prevented from reaching them.

For its part, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that more than 250,000 people were displaced from the city in the past month alone, including 60,000 in just 72 hours, as forces advanced on densely populated neighborhoods such as Sheikh Radwan and Tal al-Hawa.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that ongoing airstrikes and ground operations on Gaza City continue to inflict “a heavy toll on exhausted civilians,” while the influx of new IDPs into the southern Gaza Strip is increasing pressure on “already overstretched” services.
