Official Palestinian data announced the death of a Palestinian civilian and the injury of 40 others, in addition to 87 cases of arrest, as a result of the escalation of Israeli attacks in occupied Jerusalem province last October. According to the Al-Quds Governorate report issued today, Monday, and the Palestinian Information Center arrived, the occupation forces carried out 15 demolition and bulldozing operations and 68 attacks by settlers, while Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed the storming of more than 10,822 settlers during the month.
The governorate documented a systematic escalation of Israeli attacks targeting religious, educational, and sports institutions, as well as the persecution of Palestinian leaders. This is part of an Israeli policy aimed at altering the religious and civic landscape of the city and undermining Jerusalem’s Palestinian identity.
The report indicated that the Israeli attacks ranged from arrests and raids to physical assaults and restrictions on community activities, including attacks on mosques and churches. The report also noted that the occupation continued its policy of extrajudicial killings of Palestinians, resulting in the death of Salim Raji Hassan Abu Aisha (57 years old) from Jenin Governorate on October 15, following a brutal beating by occupation forces in the town of Al-Ram, north of Jerusalem.
The report stated that settlers committed 68 attacks in various areas, including physical assaults, incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, provocative marches, and attacks on property. Forty Palestinians were injured during these attacks, including serious injuries from live and rubber-coated bullets, as well as cases of beatings.
He added that the occupation stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and expanded it by settlements, as it documented the incursions by more than 10,000 settlers, in addition to 8,704 others under the cover of tourism. In this context, the governorate confirmed that these violations come within the framework of a systematic Judaization policy aimed at imposing Israeli sovereignty over the mosque. The report also indicated that the occupation forces arrested 87 Palestinian citizens, including 11 children and 3 women, while the occupation courts continued to issue arbitrary sentences, which included administrative arrests without clear accusations, in addition to house imprisonment and removal from mosques. and regions. He explained that the occupation continued to carry out demolition and bulldozing of Palestinian homes, as it issued 55 notifications, including demolition orders, evacuation, and the seizure of land in the towns and suburbs of Jerusalem, including Al-Tur, Silwan, and Qalandia. Also, 13 settlement schemes were deposited, including the construction of new settlement units on the Palestinian territories.
