The Oil Conflict Ignites in Hadramout… Clashes Between Saudi and Emirati Forces in the Valley

Armed clashes erupted between forces loyal to Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the oil-rich Wadi Hadramawt, marking the first direct confrontation of its kind between the two parties in the eastern governorate.

Hadramout – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Local sources reported that forces of the First Military Region, loyal to Saudi Arabia, bombarded with tanks positions recently established by forces of the UAE-backed Transitional Council in the mountains of Sah district.

For its part, the Transitional Council’s Aden TV channel confirmed that “the military movements of the Council’s forces aim to control the First Military Region and expel its forces from Wadi Hadramout.”

The channel added that “military reinforcements for the Transitional Council have arrived at the Hadramawt Plateau to join the Transitional forces stationed near the oil fields,” where reports indicate the presence of the Hadramout Tribal Alliance led by Sheikh Amr bin Hebrish in the same area.

This escalation comes at a time when Hadramout is witnessing rising tensions among various local and regional powers amid a struggle for control over oil facilities and strategic sites in the governorate, which is considered one of Yemen’s richest areas in natural resources.
