The Israeli occupation army continued to violate the ceasefire, with ongoing airstrikes and artillery shelling of the eastern areas of the Gaza Strip, and heavy gunfire from military vehicles and drones.
On Sunday morning, Israeli aircraft launched airstrikes on the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, hours after five Palestinians were killed and more than 25 others wounded in an attack targeting a civilian vehicle west of Gaza City.
The northern area of Rafah witnessed heavy gunfire from Israeli army vehicles along the border, while gunfire continued southeast of Khan Younis.
Palestinian media reported that occupation forces opened fire east of the town of Al-Qarara, east of Khan Younis.
The Israeli army continued its artillery bombardment of the eastern areas of Gaza City, detonating an armored vehicle rigged with explosives inside the Shuja’iyya neighborhood and demolishing several residential buildings.
Local sources reported observing intensive Israeli drone activity over the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City.
The Government Media Office in Gaza documented 738 violations of the ceasefire agreement over two months, resulting in the deaths of 386 Palestinians and injuries to 980 others.
The Government Media Office stated that these violations constitute “a blatant breach of international humanitarian law and a deliberate undermining of the core provisions of the attached humanitarian protocol.”
