Gaza Health Ministry: Death toll from Israeli genocide rises

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday that the death toll from the Israeli offensive since October 2023 has risen to 71,384 martyrs and 171,251 wounded.

This came in a statement issued by the ministry, which said it had added 110 martyrs to the cumulative count, whose data had been completed and approved by the government’s Martyrs’ Accreditation Committee.

The ministry reported that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received three martyrs in the past 48 hours, including two new deaths and one body recovered from Israeli custody, in addition to approximately 18 wounded.

The statement did not provide further details regarding the circumstances of the deaths and injuries. Meanwhile, Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2023, by carrying out bombing and gunfire operations against Palestinians.

The ministry clarified that Israel has killed approximately 418 Palestinians and wounded 1,171 others in its violations of the ceasefire agreement since it came into effect in October 2023.

In addition to the victims, the genocide that Israel began on October 8, 2023 with American support, and which lasted for two years, left behind massive destruction affecting 90 percent of the civilian infrastructure in the sector, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about $70 billion.
