Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon

Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Wednesday, targeting five towns including Qanarit, Jarjouh, Kfour, Khraibeh, and Ansar, after warning residents to evacuate their buildings.

The Lebanese army, in a statement, condemned the strikes as a violation of Lebanese sovereignty, according to official Lebanese and security sources.

Lebanon’s official National News Agency reported that the airstrikes “completely destroyed five buildings in the targeted towns and caused extensive damage to dozens of surrounding homes, cars, and businesses.”

Eyewitnesses and a Lebanese security source told that “Israeli warplanes carried out 10 airstrikes on five towns in southern Lebanon, firing approximately 20 air-to-surface missiles, which completely destroyed several buildings and damaged other surrounding homes.”

The security source added that “the Lebanese army had previously inspected some of the targeted buildings but found no weapons or ammunition inside.”
