The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the death toll of Palestinians killed by Israel since October 8, 2023, has risen to 72,045, with 171,686 wounded.
In a statistical statement, the ministry said that “hospitals in the Gaza Strip received eight martyrs in the past 24 hours, including three bodies recovered, and 20 wounded,” without providing further details.
Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10, 2023, Israel has continued to commit hundreds of violations through bombing and gunfire, resulting in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Palestinian civilians.
The Gaza Health Ministry noted that “a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them.”
It added: “The death toll from Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement since October 10, 2023, has risen to 591 martyrs and 1,578 wounded.”
These violations come despite the US administration announcing, in mid-January, the start of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
