Iran targets an American oil tanker in the Gulf and warns ships against crossing Hormuz without coordination
The Gulf – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced today the targeting of the ship “Safesea Vishnu” in the northern Gulf.
A statement from the Revolutionary Guard said that oil tankers and ships transiting the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz must realize that the current state of instability is a direct result of the American aggression on Iran.
The statement affirmed that all ships must comply with the traffic laws and regulations in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz under the war conditions declared by Iran, warning that any ship ignoring these warnings will expose itself to danger.
In the same context, reports indicated that the targeted tanker is named “Safesea Vishnu,” flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, and is owned by an American company.
Foreign media reported that the attack resulted in large fires breaking out on board the ship off the coast of Basra in Iraq.
