Settler violence escalates in the West Bank

Settler attacks continued in various parts of the West Bank on Wednesday evening, marking a new escalation targeting Palestinian citizens and their property. These attacks resulted in the abduction of a child and injuries among Palestinians.

In this context, a number of settlers abducted a child from the village of Qabalan, south of Nablus, after storming the al-Qaf area north of the village.

Local sources reported that the settlers abducted 14-year-old Asid Mahmoud and took him to the Itamar settlement, built on Palestinian land.

In another incident, a group of settlers assaulted a young man while he was working on his farm in the village of al-Aqaba, east of Tubas.

Kamal Bani Odeh, director of the Palestinian Prisoners Club in Tubas, explained that the attack occurred while the young man was on his farmland.

Simultaneously, Israeli occupation forces arrested Muhammad Hani Subaih as Palestinians confronted a settler attack.

In a related incident, several young men were assaulted by settlers in the area between the town of Aqraba and the village of Yanun, south of Nablus. One of them sustained bruises and was subsequently hospitalized.

Meanwhile, a woman suffered from asphyxiation in the town of Burin, south of Nablus, after settlers sprayed pepper spray inside her home.

These attacks come amidst a marked escalation in settler attacks against Palestinians and their property, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
