Iran launches a new mechanism for crossing the Strait of Hormuz under the name: Persian Gulf Strait Authority
Reuters reported on Wednesday that Iran has begun implementing a new mechanism to regulate the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, a step aimed at readjusting traffic navigation in one of the world’s most important maritime passages.
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
According to the report, ships eligible for passage will receive emails containing clear instructions and guidelines regarding the transit mechanism, obliging them to fully comply with the regulatory framework set by Tehran.
Iran has named this system the “Persian Gulf Strait Authority,” referring to a new administrative entity responsible for organizing and managing ship movement in the strait, including issuing permits and determining transit routes.
This step comes amid escalating regional tensions, as the Strait of Hormuz is a vital artery for transporting a large portion of global oil supplies, making any changes to its management mechanisms directly impactful on energy markets and international trade movement.
