Tehran announces continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz until further notice and vows to target any navigational movement

The Iranian Department for Managing Waterways in Gulf Waters announced on Thursday that the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz will continue “until further notice,” based on a statement from the Iranian armed forces, and in response to “tensions provoked by the aggressive American forces in the region.”

Tehran – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Iranian department called on all ships and entities holding transit permits to exercise patience and await further instructions.

This decision detailed the announcement by the “Khatam Al-Anbiya” Central Headquarters on Wednesday banning the movement of all types of ships, including oil tankers and commercial vessels through the strait, affirming that any movement therein would be a direct military target for strikes while simultaneously denying American claims about any ship crossing.

Iranian sources explained that these strict measures come after the US army launched attacks on southern areas in “Hormozgan” province, an aggression to which the Revolutionary Guard responded at night with intense targeting of US bases in the region, resulting in notable losses to expensive military equipment belonging to Washington’s forces.
