Tehran affirms its determination to deter American assaults and warns of a comprehensive response extending beyond the Gulf
The Iranian Foreign Ministry affirmed its country’s determination to use all its tools to exercise its inherent right to legitimate defense against American and Israeli aggressions, accusing Washington and its regional partners of exploiting maritime navigation routes and using them as cover to prepare for new hostile actions against the country.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry explained that the latest round of American military strikes is an extension of a hostile approach stretching back about 75 years, pointing out that Washington’s insistence on passing ships through the southern route was merely a cover for military moves contrary to understandings.
The Foreign Ministry revealed the monitoring of several instances of frigates belonging to US Central Command (“CENTCOM”) lingering next to oil and LNG floats, with tracking devices turned off to avoid detection by Iranian forces.
The statement referred to an incident observed on July 8, when an American frigate took shelter behind a giant LNG float, affirming that the US army has repeatedly used commercial floats to transport military personnel and equipment and maneuver within waterways.
In a related context, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Rezaei, warned that his country’s response to any potential attack “will not be limited to the Gulf region,” but will extend to all American bases and launch points wherever they are.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry concluded its statement by affirming that American actions meet the description of “aggressive action and a threat to international peace and security,” expressing regret at the UN Security Council’s failure to take any effective action to hold Washington and Tel Aviv accountable, and stressing the continued defensive strikes by the armed forces to protect Iran’s sovereignty and independence.
