Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon kill four people

Four people were killed and 32 others wounded in airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon. Israel said the strikes were in response to Hezbollah launching a drone toward its forces. Meanwhile, an Israeli newspaper revealed that Iran’s crippling economic crisis could push the Lebanese Hezbollah to seek self-financing.

The Israeli army announced on Saturday that it had launched overnight airstrikes against Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure in southern Lebanon. It explained that it had targeted seven villages in southern and eastern Lebanon, particularly in the Nabatieh region. According to a new toll released by the Lebanese Ministry of Health on Saturday, the strikes resulted in “4 deaths and 32 injuries,” including an 18-year-old woman in the town of Mayfadoun.

Lebanese media outlets published footage on Friday showing the destruction caused by the Israeli airstrike that targeted the vicinity of the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon. In Mefdoun, located adjacent to Zawtar al-Sharqiya where Israeli forces are stationed, a few residents inspected the damage the day after the raid that destroyed a house. The photos showed that there was extensive damage left by previous strikes on the town, of which only a few residents remain.
