UN warns of running out of essential aid supplies in the Gaza Strip

The United Nations’ humanitarian partners have confirmed that the ongoing Israeli airstrikes and military operations against populated areas in the Gaza Strip are endangering civilian lives and causing widespread destruction of property and infrastructure. UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric explained that the UN and its humanitarian partners are intensifying their efforts to assess current needs and provide urgent relief to those affected in the Strip. He noted warnings from aid teams about the critical shortage of essential supplies due to funding shortfalls and the continued severe restrictions on the flow of aid and the replenishment of humanitarian stocks. Dujarric reiterated the call for adherence to international humanitarian law, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians and civilian objects, including shelters and humanitarian facilities, and ensuring their safety at all times.
