A Human Rights Report Exposes the Massacres of the Saudi Coalition in Hays and Al-Khawkhah

Hudaydah – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Eye of Humanity for Rights and Development” center revealed, in a press conference held today, Wednesday, a horrific toll of the crimes of the Saudi coalition and its military factions in the Hays and Al-Khawkhah districts of Hudaydah governorate, affirming that these crimes amount to war crimes.

The director of Al-Khawkhah district, Amjad Al-Omaisi, said that “the mobilizations affiliated with the Saudi coalition have practiced the most heinous crimes of looting, plundering, dragging, and rape,” calling on international organizations to “play their role” in protecting civilians.

For his part, the governor of Hudaydah, Major General Abdullah Atifi, affirmed that “there are grave violations by the mobilizations affiliated with the coalition, represented in the destruction of facilities, mosques, and shrines of saints in the western coast districts,” indicating that “the people of the Al-Khawkhah and Hays districts have been subjected to great injustice, and fishermen, a large segment, have been deprived of their sources of livelihood, and have been subjected to abduction and torture.”

Victim and Loss Toll:

Eye of Humanity for Rights Center announced that “the total number of martyrs in the Hays and Al-Khawkhah districts reached 687, including 343 martyrs, among them 89 children and 24 women, while the number of wounded reached 344, including 57 children and 41 women.”

The center indicated that “the intensive shelling and field escalation by the enemy and its mobilizations caused the displacement of thousands of families who are currently suffering from food insecurity, lack of clean drinking water, and absence of primary medical care,” noting that “most health units and medical centers have gone out of service as a result of direct shelling and the paralysis resulting from the interruption of supplies, medicines, and power.”

Destruction of Livelihoods:

Regarding economic damage, the center affirmed that “hundreds of farmers and fishermen have lost their only sources of income as a result of the Saudi enemy and its mercenaries targeting farms, mining roads, and shelling fishing boats at sea,” adding that “457 fishermen were martyred or injured, more than 2,000 others were abducted, and 47,020 fishing boats and landing centers were destroyed.”

The center noted that “agricultural activity has halted in the Hays and Al-Khawkhah districts as a result of the Saudi enemy and its mobilizations using residents’ farms as military barracks.”
