From the Sea Crisis to the Airspace, and from Mecca to the Terrorism Fatwa… A New Saudi Escape in Yemen

Saudi Arabia continues its confusion in dealing with the Yemeni file, and it has finally awakened to a reality bigger than it could imagine its nightmares, and all its dream is to find a justification that pushes the countries of the world, or at least its allies, into the circle of its quagmire in Yemen, in light of escaping the predicament. So what are the most prominent images of the Saudi fallacies regarding Yemen?

When Saudi Arabia failed to hold out in the battle of Yemen’s western coast, it began marketing the scarecrow of the danger of those it calls the Houthis in Bab al-Mandab. It expected that major countries would engage in the war, and that the Yemeni forces’ control over the strait would raise international fears and push specific parties to mobilize, but it failed in the diplomatic battle once again despite its activation of the Security Council and the media aura that accompanied it.

Just as Sana’a managed to achieve victory on the battlefield, it also achieved a diplomatic victory, and it reassured all the countries of the world regarding navigation and affirmed its freedom, with the exception of Saudi Arabia only.

Today Saudi Arabia repeats its escape in another form, and it has found in the Yemeni defense systems, which have disturbed the sleep of its aircraft over the past weeks, media material to blackmail the world with the “blind” cruise missiles, and it has devoted a huge space to them, although not a single incident has ever been recorded in the record of the Sana’a forces, which succeeded by means of these locally made missiles in downing F-15s and pursuing squadrons of bombers and stealth fighter jets and blowing up the giant of Chinese, American, and Turkish drones.

So, these are other images of the images of Saudi confusion in dealing with the Yemeni file, added to a wide list that has recently emerged, the most prominent of which are the claims of targeting Mecca, before Saudi Arabia followed them up by summoning the clerics of takfir to issue fatwas of terrorism and fighting in Yemen.

Although the Saudi media campaigns are not new in their character, the most important thing about them is that Saudi Arabia is trying to search for justifications for its escalation in Yemen, and on the other hand to mobilize regional and international parties and even Arab and Islamic societies. This also confirms the exhaustion of Saudi Arabia’s credibility regionally and internationally, and it is the one that did not need all these justifications when it suddenly decided to launch a war and siege on Yemen in March of the year 2015.
