Sana’a Accuses United Nations of Politicizing Demining File
Director of the Executive Center for Mine Displacement in Sana’a, Brigadier Ali Safra, accused on Wednesday the United Nations of reducing its activities in Yemen and politicizing the file of mines deliberately.
Brigadier Safra confirmed in a press statement that the shortage of materials used to destroy the mines and the remains of war, which led to more civilian casualties as a result of their explosion.
He revealed that the survey of mines in Hodeida is reaching more than 400 square kilometers, pointing out that the center has cleared part of this area despite the lack of capabilities available.
“We informed the UN party of the need to enter mine detectors, especially during the truce period,” Safra added.
