Sana’a government: The process of unloading over one million barrels from the “Safer Tanker” has begun and will continue for 52 days
The oil pumping process started yesterday and was successful in its first step, according to Zaid Al-Washli, head of the supervising committee for the Safer Tank Agreement’s implementation in Sana’a.

Al-Washli stated that the unloading process, which includes tank cleaning, will take roughly 52 days and involve the unloading of one million and 140 thousand barrels.
He clarified that Sana’a’s role in this process is supervisory only, while the United Nations has contracted with “SMT Company” to take over the transfer process.
Al-Washli added that the danger of leakage from the “Safer Tanker” has been stopped since three years thanks to the extraordinary work of our national teams, and this is something we declare for the first time. “We assure the Yemeni people, the world, and anyone who cares about the marine environment.
