The statement stated, “Using drones, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted two US occupation bases in Syria and hit their targets directly.”
This attack coincides with similar drone bombing over the past few days against US and coalition bases in Iraq, amid escalating tensions in the region.
According to media sources today, there was also a strong explosion at the American-led international coalition base within the Al-Omar oil field in Syria.
Earlier today, Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder stated that there is no specific threat against US forces in the Middle East, but the frequency of attacks against our bases in Syria and Iraq has increased.
This came after armed groups targeted the Tanf military base this morning, which houses US and international coalition forces in Syria, with drones.
