France requests mediation to conceal the failure of its forces in Yemen

Sana’a, on Monday, revealed details of confrontations with French forces in Yemen, concurrently with Paris declaring that a drone had attacked one of its battleships off the western coast.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Brigadier General Abdullah bin Amer, Deputy Director of the Moral Guidance Department, reported in a post on his official social media page that France had deployed a portion of its forces stationed in Djibouti to participate in the military operations led by Saudi Arabia between 2018 and 2019. He pointed out that the French forces’ first attempt had failed; thus, in order to preserve the prestige of the French forces, the French government had to urgently ask for mediation with Sana’a, request confidentiality about what happened, and avoid its disclosure to the media.

The Yemeni official’s statement comes on the eve of the French Army Staff’s talking about the targeting of one of its battleships by two drones.

Although Sana’a did not officially claim responsibility for the operation, the US Navy claimed that it was launched from areas belonging to the “Houthis,” as it raised doubts in Yemen about the motives and credibility of the French announcement, especially as it coincides with American Israeli efforts to form a new war alliance against Yemen.
