Haaretz: Yemeni forces’ attack marks a new phase in the war

According to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, the early morning airstrike by the Yemeni armed forces on Tel Aviv “Jaffa” on Friday represents a new phase in the war and sends a highly impactful message as it targeted a building near the U.S. embassy.

Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The newspaper stated that Tel Aviv “Jaffa” has become the target of multiple barrages of Hamas rockets, but the threat to the center of the country has greatly declined since the Israeli forces entered the Gaza Strip, while the Houthis have targeted the Eilat area in the far south.

The newspaper admitted that the Yemeni forces are a determined enemy that is difficult to deter, stating: “The Yemeni forces’ leadership exerts great effort in the war and possesses increasingly sophisticated long-range weapons,” and considering that gradually, the occupation is learning what the Saudis and Emiratis have learned during their long war against Sana’a.

It stated that at the beginning of the war, Sana’a forces started attacking ships in the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea in solidarity with Gaza, which was being bombed, and to punish the occupation. They managed to suppress most of the traffic through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal and completely shut down the Port of Eilat.

Observers close to the occupation on social media called for declaring war on the forces behind the attack and holding Israelis accountable for their failure to activate the air defense system, according to the newspaper.

Sana’a forces have claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that they launched a new unmanned aerial vehicle called “Jaffa.” Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Saree said the drone flew around the Israeli air defense batteries, and “Tel Aviv” is now the primary target.
