A Yemeni hint at adding a third western country to the list of bans

Yemen hinted on Monday at a move to include a third Western country in the navigation ban list in the region.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Brigadier Abdullah Amer, Deputy Director of the Moral Guidance Department of the Yemeni Armed Forces, wrote on his social media page, “Yemen does not have ships passing from Italy.”

According to experts, the tweet was interpreted as a hint to add the European country most eager to protect the Israeli occupation to the list of Yemen’s hostile countries. This list was declared by the Political Council, the highest authority in Sana’a, last January with the start of the American-British aggression on Yemen, including the US and Britain at the forefront.

Although Brigadier Ben Amer did not specify the motives behind the Yemeni move, its timing indicates that it is in response to Italy’s mobilization, which had previously deployed an aircraft carrier within the American-British fleet in the region militarily.

The European Union mission stated in a previous statement that Rome is preparing to send a new frigate while withdrawing another from the Red Sea, likely damaged during attempts to intercept Yemeni attacks.

Yemen’s decision to add Italy to the ban list will be a strong blow to the European country overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, as the Red Sea is its most important sea lane to Asian markets.

The ban on Italian navigation will not be limited to Italy, as with America and Britain, which have suffered the sinking of their consecutive ships in the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and the Gulf of Aden. It will extend to its ports in the Mediterranean, especially as Yemeni operations there enter a new phase.
