Italian surgery in Gaza: I receive 4 children daily with direct bullets to head and neck

An Italian surgeon working in Gaza Strip said th she receives an average of four children with direct bullet wounds to the neck and head every day, and that she has not seen so many serious injuries and situations in all the conflict areas in which she has worked.

Dr.  Federica Lizzi, who works as a surgeon with doctors without border (MSF) at Deir al-Balah hospital in central Gaza, said she was most shocked by the sheer number of victims aged between two and 15 who were hit by a single projectile in the head and neck. The Italian doctor spoke of 40 surgeries she performs every day, 15 of them children.
