North Gaza hospitals threatened to shut down within 24 hours

The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip said on Saturday that the Strip’s hospitals are threatened with being out of service within 24 hours as a result of running out of fuel and preventing Israel from entering it.

Hussam Abu Safiya explained in a statement: “The reality in the northern Gaza Strip is catastrophic, as Kamal Adwan Hospital and the rest of the hospitals will be out of service within 24 hours due to the depletion of fuel and the failure of the occupation to enter it through international organizations.”

He added: “For a week, the occupation has not brought any fuel into the northern Gaza Strip, which puts us in front of a real disaster facing the sick and wounded in the intensive care department, who rely on ventilators that work on electricity.”

Since October 7, 2023, when the genocidal war began, Israel has destroyed 23 out of 38 hospitals, including government and private hospitals, leaving only 15 hospitals operating at limited capacity and under harsh conditions despite their damage, amid severe shortages of medicines and medical equipment.
