American confusion after Yemen foiled assassinations plan

Yemen mixed up America’s cards aimed at containing Yemeni operations while expecting an explosion of the situation regionally.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The US began to be confused diplomatically for the first time in its history. While the US Deputy Secretary of State set new conditions for a truce with Sana’a during a meeting with the UN envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, the American envoy, rushed to present alternative offers.

US Deputy Secretary of State John Bass affirmed during the meeting held in Washington, according to a statement from the US State Department, the necessity of releasing American and international “spy cells” in addition to stopping Yemeni operations against the Israeli occupation in exchange for advancing peace in Yemen.

Contrary to what Bass stated, the American envoy presented new offers, most notably flirting with the Houthis in governing Yemen by stating in a press interview that they are not ready for it, in reference to his country’s desire to make an agreement with Sana’a that includes recognition of its authority over Yemen.

Lenderking emphasized in his remarks that all his country wants is to stop operations against the Israeli occupation only.

These positions reflected American contradictions, with America appearing tough in the meeting with Bass and Grueneberg while showing flexibility in Lenderking’s statements.

Although these contradictions were interpreted as an American attempt to halt any progress in peace through the United Nations and maintain communication channels despite their rejection by Sana’a, flexibility was also interpreted as a natural reflection of America’s recent military failure in Yemen.

A Yemeni official confirmed the failure of an American plan to market claims of victory through the assassination of Yemeni leaders.

The advisor to the head of the Political Council, Mohammed Taher Anam, commented on the American airstrikes on Sana’a and Sa’ada, carried out by B-2 strategic bombers specialized in targeting shelters at great depths.

The airstrikes last week were the first since the confrontation with Yemeni forces began in January.

The airstrikes with strategic bombs came at a time when America succeeded in carrying out a series of assassinations on several fronts of the resistance, especially in Palestine and Lebanon.

Hours after the American airstrikes, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, the Ansar Allah leader and the most wanted man by the Americans, came out with speeches, the most prominent of which was to mourn the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Yahya Al-Sinwar.

The assassinations were Washington’s alternative cards in Yemen following the failure to contain Yemeni operations against the Israeli occupation militarily.

Its failure marks another setback for America in Yemen.

While the American offers to Ansar Allah, “the Houthis,” in particular, are not new since the start of Yemeni operations in November last year, this time they included public privileges such as governance, reflecting the extent of the American desire to neutralize Yemen, especially with expectations of escalation against Iran, with Yemen expected to play a major supporting role.
