The United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, called for decisive international action to end the genocide in the Gaza Strip, amid international condemnation of what the Gaza Strip and its hospitals are subjected to at the hands of the Israeli occupation.
“The genocide and humanitarian catastrophe are unfolding before all of us in Gaza,” Albanese said. She pointed out that “the Israeli violence after the seventh of October 2023 is part of the deliberate and systematic forced displacement” practiced by Israel against the residents of the Gaza Strip.
The UN official added that “the total destruction of Gaza continues unabated, and no Palestinian remains safe,” and considered that “Israel’s plans for displacement and annexation of territory are expanding from Palestine to Lebanon.”
