The Israeli army on Monday carried out heavy aerial and artillery bombardment on the northern Gaza Strip as its military operation in the area entered its second month, while the government media office in Gaza revealed the outcome of a month of the ongoing operation.
The media office said the al-Fakhoura area in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip had been heavily shelled by Israel. Al-Aqsa satellite channel also reported heavy shelling, accompanied by smoke shelling, on the al-Qasasib area, east of Jabalya refugee camp.
In parallel with the aerial and artillery shelling, the occupying forces blew up other houses in western Jabalya. Al-Aqsa satellite channel also reported a series of successive explosions and plumes of smoke rising as a result of airstrikes and artillery shelling in areas of the Beit Lahiya project.
He said that Israeli warplanes targeted two houses in the Beit Lahia project, resulting in martyrs and injuries, and the government information office in Gaza announced on Monday that 1,800 Palestinians were killed and 4,000 others were wounded as a result of the ongoing attack on the northern Gaza Strip.
