Gaza government: Sea water washed away 10,000 displaced tents
The government media office in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that about 10,000 tents housing displaced people were damaged and washed away by sea waves during the past two days due to an air depression.
The media office said in a statement: “Over the past two days, about 10,000 tents were damaged, as they were swept away by sea water after the waves extended due to the entry of the depression.”
He renewed the launch of “an urgent humanitarian appeal to the international community, all countries of the world and all international and UN organizations, to save hundreds of thousands of displaced people in the Gaza Strip before it is too late.”
He explained that the Israeli army “prevented the entry of 250,000 tents and caravans (mobile homes) into the Gaza Strip in light of a serious humanitarian reality.”
