Russian report confirms failure of “THAAD” system to intercept Yemeni missiles

Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

A Russian report confirmed that the American missile defense system “THAAD” failed to intercept the missiles launched by the Yemenis towards Tel Aviv.

The report indicated that the US deployed the American missile defense system “THAAD” on the occupied Palestinian lands after the Iranian attack on Israel on October 1, 2024, to bolster support for Tel Aviv.

The report, published by the Russian newspaper “Pars Today” and translated by “Arab Journal,” added that while the Israeli forces and their affiliated media have been heavily promoting the American missile defense system known as “THAAD,” the Yemeni ballistic missile “Palestine 2,” which targeted Tel Aviv, has shown the impracticality of this system.

The report explained that the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) missile defense system was developed by the US and aims to protect deployed forces in combat areas, as well as vital population centers and sensitive infrastructure, from short-, medium-, and long-range ballistic missile threats, both within and outside the atmosphere.

The THAAD system consists of four main components: radar, command, control and communications center, launcher, and interceptor missile.
