Sana’a achieves a new sovereign achievement by obligating the UN to communicate through its official channels

Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Sana’a has achieved a new sovereign achievement after the UN confirmed its commitment to communicate through the official channels affiliated with the authority in Sana’a and to reduce its operational expenses amid the increasing humanitarian needs in the various Yemeni governorates.

This came during a meeting between the Foreign Minister of Sana’a, Jamal Amer, and the Humanitarian Coordinator (OCHA), Julien Harneis, yesterday, where the two sides discussed ways to improve coordination and strengthen humanitarian work.

According to the Saba Agency, the UN and international organizations, whether governmental or non-governmental, affirmed that they will rely on the official channels represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Sana’a for communication and the implementation of their activities.

For his part, Julien Harneis announced that the UN has agreed to reduce operational expenses and support local employment by providing job opportunities for Yemeni employees in possible positions instead of relying on international cadres, which reflects an implicit recognition of the importance of Sana’a’s administrative sovereignty.
