International Maritime Center: Yemenis have no relation to the fire on the “Bauhinia” ship in the Red Sea

The “Combined Maritime Information Center” said that the fire that broke out on the Chinese ship “A.S.L. Bauhinia” in the Red Sea has no connection to the Yemeni attacks.

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The center, which is supervised by the US-led maritime coalition, stated that the fire occurred on January 28, 2025, 122 nautical miles northwest of Hudaydah, where the crew failed to extinguish it and were evacuated safely by a nearby ship.

The center confirmed that the incident is not related to any targeting by the Yemenis and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A sudden fire had broken out on the ship, which flies the Hong Kong flag and is operated by a Chinese company, and according to estimates, the fire is related to “dangerous” goods, as reported by the British maritime security company “Ambrey.”

The Sana’a government had previously stated that it has stopped targeting non-Israeli ships under the Gaza ceasefire agreement while maintaining sanctions on Israeli ships.
