Early Yemeni restriction of Trump

The Yemeni-American confrontation took on a new dimension on Wednesday, after Yemen had settled the battle of the Red Sea in its favor more than a year ago. Where is the situation heading?

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Just hours after the new American administration announced the official entry into force of the decision to designate the Ansar Allah the “Houthi” movement as a terrorist organization, Yemen launched a military strike, the first of its kind against the administration of US President Donald Trump.

The American decision is not new, it is the third since Trump’s first term between 2017 and 2021, and it had previously failed to change the new reality, even though Yemen was previously still fighting against the Saudi-Emirati coalition.

The new decision may hinder the flow of food and goods or cause some kind of economic disruption targeting Yemen north and south, but it will not actually affect the rising military power or its positions in supporting humanitarian and brotherly causes, foremost of which is the Gaza issue.

In contrast, Yemen responded with an even greater challenge. While many regional and international adversaries were waiting for a Yemeni submission to the new US administration’s decision and an attempt to diplomatically contain its escalation, the Yemeni strike came to bring down an MQ-9 drone in a strong message that it is ready for any escalation and that the US is the biggest loser in the confrontation.

Trump’s latest decision may have economic dimensions, but for Yemen, it is a matter of war, whatever its features, and military confrontation is ultimately the only option to overthrow the American decision, according to what the leaders in Sana’a are saying.

The Trump administration may have started the new round of confrontation, but it appears that Sana’a alone is holding the reins of its resolution, and the latest military strike may be an incentive for the new American president to review his calculations after he had become accustomed to the routine of other leaders and officials complying with his wishes, as Yemen is completely different.
