American media reports have confirmed that the Yemeni forces have turned into a huge regional military force, as the recent years have witnessed a significant increase in the number of their fighters and military capabilities, making them a key element in the Resistance Axis, alongside Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, and the Iraqi and Syrian factions.

Unprecedented Military Rise:

According to a report published by the “The Media Line” website, the number of Yemeni forces’ fighters increased to 350,000 in 2025, compared to 220,000 in 2022 and only 30,000 in 2015, reflecting a massive growth in the size and capability of this force.

The report added that Sana’a is no longer just a local rebel group but has transformed into a major military power with regional alliances and a strategic threat to Israel, especially with the escalating tensions in the region.

Increasing Israeli Concern:

These estimates come amid growing Israeli fears of the resumption of Yemeni military operations against Tel Aviv, as the report cited the statement made by the Deputy Head of the Media Authority in Sana’a, Nasr Al-Din Amer, following an official announcement by the Yemeni military leadership in Sana’a, that:

“It is too early to determine the level of escalation, but at the very least, Jaffa will be under fire.”

The report also confirmed that Israel has come to view Sana’a as an increasing threat amid the growth of its military and political influence, coinciding with the end of the ceasefire in Gaza and the possibility of a resumption of military escalation in the region.

The Ideological and Military Dimension of the Conflict:

In a statement to the “The Media Line” website, Yemeni journalist Yasser Al-Jabri pointed out that the escalating hostility towards Israel in Yemen is a result of the massacres it has committed in Gaza, adding that Sana’a is investing in this popular sentiment to expand its military influence, considering the Palestinian cause as part of an ideological and religious conflict in the region.

A Qualitative Shift in the Regional Confrontation:

This American report reveals that Sana’a has succeeded in transforming from a local force into a key regional player capable of threatening Israeli and American interests, as it has managed to develop an advanced military arsenal, expand its alliances, and strengthen its human capabilities, despite the siege and repeated airstrikes.

This recognition comes as part of a series of Western reports confirming that attempts to contain Sana’a have failed, and that it is ready for a new round of escalation against Israel if the aggression on Gaza continues.
