A third of the martyrs and wounded… Gaza’s children are targets of the occupation in its aggression

Palestinian children are the primary victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. They constitute a third of the martyrs and wounded, according to the latest statistics from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Strip.

More than 15,600 children have been killed since the beginning of the aggression, representing 31% of the total martyrs. Of the wounded, 30% are children, representing 33,900 children.

According to Ministry of Health statistics, the number of infants under one year old who were martyred reached approximately 825, while the number of children born and martyred during the war on Gaza was estimated at approximately 274.

It is noteworthy that the largest percentage of child martyrs was between 6 and 12 years old, representing 36.8%.
In this context, UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu Khalaf said the picture is very bleak with these mounting numbers of child martyrs, who he believes pay the highest price in any war.
