UN: Gaza: An Endless Cycle of Death

UN Secretary-General António Guterres strongly attacked Israel on Tuesday, accusing it of turning Gaza into a killing field. He criticized it for preventing aid from entering, instead of honoring its “explicit obligations” to meet the needs of the population. Guterres said Gaza is a killing field, and that civilians are trapped in a cycle of “endless death.”

He added, “More than a month has passed without a single drop of aid reaching Gaza… no food, no fuel, no medicine, no commercial supplies, and as aid dries up, the gates of terror have opened once again.” Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking from El Arish, confirmed that the Gaza Strip is home to two million “besieged” people and cannot be considered a “real estate project.” Macron called for the crossings to be opened and the entry of humanitarian aid resumed. He also strongly condemned the targeting of humanitarian and relief personnel in Gaza, while the Dutch Foreign Minister summoned the Israeli ambassador over the situation in Gaza. This comes as the Israeli army continues its war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, claiming the lives of more civilians, including children, women, and displaced persons. This comes amidst a tightened blockade and a ban on the entry of food and medical aid.

A human rights organization has confirmed that Israel has arrested more than 10,000 citizens in Gaza.
