At the same time, international media outlets circulated reports that a ship was attacked by naval boats in the same area, without clarifying the nature of the damage or the identity of the targeted ship so far.
This incident comes amid the escalation of tensions in the Red Sea and Yemeni territorial waters, where the Yemeni Sanaa forces are carrying out continuous maritime operations in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza as part of what they describe as the “strategic response to the Israeli aggression and the continued American support for it.”
United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) is one of the most prominent entities that regularly monitors and reports maritime incidents in the region, especially since the escalation of military activity in the Red Sea and its surroundings in late 2023.
