UNRWA: Israel uses aid as a bargaining chip and weapon of war in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) accused the Israeli occupation authorities of using humanitarian aid as a “bargaining chip and a weapon of war,” demanding the lifting of the 50-day-old blockade on Gaza.
This came in a statement published Tuesday by UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini on the X platform, in which he denounced: “How long will it take for empty words of condemnation to be translated into action to lift the blockade, resume the ceasefire, and save what remains of humanity?” Lazzarini continued: “Two million people—the majority of them women and children—are subjected to collective punishment. The wounded, sick, and elderly are deprived of medicine and healthcare.” He pointed out that, at the same time, humanitarian organizations have aid ready to enter Gaza, including nearly 3,000 trucks of life-saving aid from UNRWA.
