The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that approximately 1,500 Palestinians have lost their sight as a result of the war of extermination, and 4,000 others are at risk of losing their sight due to the shortage of medicines and medical equipment.
Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced that nine Palestinians, including four children, were killed in the shelling of refugee tents in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) also announced on Sunday that it has thousands of trucks ready to enter, and its teams in Gaza are prepared to increase deliveries.
UNRWA said in a post on its Facebook page today: “More than nine weeks have passed since the blockade of Gaza, with the State of Israel preventing the entry of all humanitarian, medical, and commercial aid.”
It added: “The longer this blockade continues, the more irreversible damage will occur to countless lives.”
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor reported the deaths of 14 elderly Palestinians last week as a result of starvation, malnutrition, and lack of medical care due to the blockade.
She added: “The elderly and children in Gaza are gradually dying as a result of the deadly living conditions deliberately imposed by Israel.”
