The Yemeni armed forces declare a maritime embargo on the port of “Haifa” in response to the escalation of the occupation in Gaza

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced, on Monday, a decision to impose a maritime embargo on the “Port of Haifa” in response to the escalation of the Israeli occupation’s military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Yemeni Armed Forces warned “all companies” that have ships present in the port or heading to it to start implementing this decision effective from the date of issuing the statement, May 19, 2025.

A statement issued by the Yemeni Armed Forces stated, “In response to the Israeli enemy’s escalation of its brutal aggression against the population in Gaza, committing dozens of massacres daily, and the continuation of the siege and starvation, and its refusal to stop its aggression and lift its siege, the Yemeni Armed Forces, with the help of God and reliance on Him, have decided to implement the directives of the leadership to start work on imposing a maritime embargo on the Port of Haifa.”

The statement added, “It notifies all companies that have ships present in this port or heading to it that the aforementioned port has been on the list of targets since the announcement of this statement, and they must take what is stated in this statement and what will be issued later into consideration.”

The statement indicated that “this decision comes after the success of the armed forces in imposing the siege on the Port of Umm Rashrash and its cessation of operation, and we will not hesitate, by God’s help, to take the necessary additional measures in support and assistance to our wronged Palestinian people and their resistance.”

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, emphasized in the statement that “all the measures and decisions of the armed forces related to the Israeli enemy, whether in terms of supporting operations or the embargo on air and maritime navigation, will be suspended upon the cessation of the aggression on Gaza and the lifting of the siege on it.”
