“Truman” Out of the Red Sea

The US on Monday ended its military presence in the Red Sea after about two months of military confrontations with Yemen.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Satellite images showed the arrival of the American aircraft carrier “USS Harry S. Truman” to the Mediterranean Sea.

Egyptian activists had circulated photos of Truman crossing the Suez Canal earlier this week.

The US’s decision to withdraw its fleet from the Red Sea came as the agreement with Yemen was entering its second week.

In the middle of last week, US President Donald Trump announced his country’s decision to cease fire with Yemen, following a series of attacks on the US naval fleet that exceeded 30, the most dangerous of which was last week when Truman was subjected to a series of attacks in which it lost F-18 fighters from its air wing.

With the withdrawal of “Truman,” the US has ended its military presence in the Red Sea, which it began mobilizing for at the beginning of last year and during which it tried to stop the Yemeni operations supporting Gaza.

Truman is one of 5 American fleets that Yemen has forced to withdraw from the Red Sea in about a year and a half of confrontation, as America had previously withdrawn Truman itself for maintenance, and before it, “Eisenhower,” “Roosevelt,” and “Lincoln.”
