More than 2,700 children under the age of five face severe malnutrition in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that more than 2,700 Palestinian children under the age of five were diagnosed with severe malnutrition in late May in the Gaza Strip due to systematic starvation by Israel.

UNRWA said on its X platform that the crisis across the Gaza Strip “has reached unprecedented levels of despair, with people continuing to suffer from hunger.”

It added that “more than 2,700 children under the age of five were diagnosed with severe malnutrition in late May.”

It noted that “only one medical point remains partially operational in the northern Gaza Strip,” noting that “fuel supplies are in critical condition.”

The UN agency called for “the urgent restoration of humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip,” which is under Israeli blockade and is blockading all supplies.
