Ambiguity surrounds the fate of a cargo ship, which is believed to be linked to the Israeli occupation, as it has been under attack for hours off the west coast of Yemen.

The Associated Press news agency quoted the British maritime security company Ambrey as saying that the ship was targeted by two drone boat attacks, confirming the collision of the boats with the ship.

The targeting of the ship with the booby-trapped drone boats came hours after the British Maritime Operations Center revealed that armed men aboard high-speed boats had surrounded the ship and opened fire on it with machine guns and RPG rounds, with the ship’s security team responding with gunfire.

It is likely that the ship has been hit as a result of being targeted by the drone boats, and it is also likely that it will be targeted with missiles and drones if it continues to resist.

The ship is one of dozens of ships targeted by the Yemeni forces during the ongoing campaign in support of Gaza since November 2023, and the focus of the targeting indicates its close ties to the Israeli occupation.
