65000children under the age of 10 are at risk of starvation because of Israel

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Dr. Khalil Al-Daqran, said that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has reached catastrophic levels, as the Israeli occupation is employing a systematic starvation policy and preventing the entry of food and medical aid for more than four months, which has led to an exacerbation of famine and malnutrition, especially among children.

Al-Daqran explained that 113 citizens, most of them children, died as a result of malnutrition, noting that the Gaza Strip suffers from a complete lack of protein sources such as milk, meat, and fish.

He emphasized that more than 650,000 children under the age of ten are at risk of starvation, including 60,000 infants deprived of infant formula, in addition to 60,000 pregnant women and more than 60,000 breastfeeding mothers suffering from severe malnutrition, preventing them from breastfeeding their children.

He pointed out that the limited aid allowed into Gaza reaches only 2 to 3% of the population, and that relief distribution centers have turned into “death traps,” with more than 1,000 citizens killed and approximately 6,000 injured while trying to reach them.

Al-Daqran issued an urgent appeal to the international community, scholars, and people of conscience to pressure the occupation to open the crossings and allow the entry of aid, stressing that thousands of trucks are parked hundreds of meters from Gaza, but the occupation insists on preventing them.
