Famine killing Gaza’s children… UNICEF: They die every hour amid the world’s silence
Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned on Thursday of a catastrophic acceleration in the spread of famine inside the Gaza Strip, noting that increasing numbers of children are dying every hour due to severe shortages of food, water, and medicine under a suffocating siege imposed by Israeli occupation forces.
The organization stated that tons of life-saving food remain stuck at the border, without allowing it to be brought to the population threatened with death due to hunger.
In earlier remarks this month, UNICEF’s regional spokesperson, Salim Oweis, described the reality of childhood in Gaza as “extremely tragic,” affirming that the Strip has become “the most dangerous place in the world for children.”
He noted that the threat of hunger and malnutrition now looms over all of Gaza’s residents, not just children, amid unprecedented humanitarian conditions.
Over two million Palestinians in Gaza live under a brutal siege and an ongoing war of extermination waged by the Israeli occupation army, which blocks the entry of humanitarian aid and uses starvation as a direct weapon against civilians.
