The Guardian reveals: A new epidemic threatens Gaza amid the collapse of the health sector

The British newspaper, The Guardian, revealed a serious deterioration in the health situation in the Gaza Strip, where the risk of deadly diseases is increasing due to malnutrition, widespread infections, and a severe shortage of medical facilities, in light of the ongoing Israeli blockade.

Follow-ups – Alkhabar AlYemeni:

Recent research has revealed a new threat: the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains across the Strip, which has suffered massive destruction after 22 months of ongoing war.

Hospitals in Gaza are suffering from a severe shortage of essential medical supplies, while tens of thousands of wounded people are facing significant difficulties in obtaining appropriate treatment. Malnutrition has also weakened the population’s immune system, making them more susceptible to infectious diseases and serious health complications.

Health experts have warned that the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria will lead to longer and more severe illnesses, with accelerated spread of infections and higher mortality rates, especially among the most vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.

This comes as Gaza faces one of its worst humanitarian crises, amid the ongoing Israeli aggression and blockade, and a deterioration in medical capabilities to combat this health catastrophe.
