Yemen decoded it… The fall of new American fighters jets

The US announced on Thursday the loss of additional fighter jets that Yemen had succeeded in shooting down for the first time.

The American CBS network quoted the US Department of Defense as stating a new F-18 fighter jet was downed in the ocean.

This new fighter, which US forces have previously allocated to counter air attacks during confrontations in the Red Sea, is the sixth in a few months, according to the American network.

Although the US Department of Defense attempted to claim that the aircraft fell into the ocean off the coast of Virginia, it raised doubts by stating that the fighter was not recovered.

This type of fighter jet was known during the two-month war led by the Trump administration, extending an American campaign since 2024 aimed at halting Yemeni operations supporting Gaza.

The US administration acknowledged the downing of three of this type in the Red Sea, two of them in the last week of the aircraft carrier “Truman” in the Red Sea.

It remains unclear whether the new fighter actually fell into the ocean, as the Defense Department claims the announcement is part of a gradual recognition by US forces that lost the Red Sea battle, but the timing of the announcement raises suspicions that the aircraft may have been downed during new attempts to intercept missiles targeting the Israeli occupation.

Earlier this week, the US Department of Defense announced its participation in repelling Yemeni attacks following the occupation’s attack on the capital, Sana’a.
